Inpatient surgery is generally a planned major surgery and typically requires more than an

Outpatient surgery is generally a planned elective procedure that does not require an
overnight stay. You will typically be discharged to your home the same day as your
procedure. You might hear it also referred to as day surgery or same-day surgery.
